This is a FREE set of four photography workshops for people of all ages and abilities, run by Oriel Colwyn and Llanddulas Remembers. The workshops provide people with an opportunity to work on photographic projects within Llanddulas, Rhyd-y-Foel and Abergele areas and learn new skills with Oriel Colwyn’s curator and professional photographer, Paul Sampson.

Instructor:
Paul Sampson, Curator and founder of Colwyn Bay’s ‘Oriel Colwyn’ gallery, architect of North Wales’ first international photography festival: The Northern Eye and working professional photographer. Paul is a passionate advocate for photography and is always keen to transfer his skills, knowledge and joy for the subject to all.

First part of the session will be about understanding your camera and how to use it. We will look at using manual mode as well as other settings. We will investigate how to compose photographs and understand what makes a good picture.
Bring your own camera or borrow one to use - Any ability welcome.

Second part of the session will consist of a photo walk; this offers photographers an opportunity to be around like-minded photographers, practising existing and new skills in the field. The session has been designed to cater for all learning opportunities within both the creative and technical fields. You will be given photographic themes throughout the Photo Walk to challenge your photography and examine how you make your images.

The workshops are sponsored by Llanddulas and Rhyd-y-Foel Community Council, Abergele Town Council and Conwy County Borough Council.
